Brazil: Paraguay's President Benitez meets with Bolsonaro in Brasilia
Paraguayan president Mario Abdo Benitez arrived at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia on Tuesday for a meeting with Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro. The two leaders listened to their countries' national anthems before heading into a closed meeting. "This history of our people today unites us to defend freedom and to defend democracy in the region. Neither the Democratic Federative Republic of Brazil nor the Republic of Paraguay has remained indifferent in front of a people's suffering, like the brother people of Venezuela. Today it is Venezuela, tomorrow it can be any other nation", said Benitez while speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting. Bolsonaro mentioned a number of topics relevant to both countries, such as the Itaipu Dam and the fight against organised crime.
